Focus On More Than One Or Two Keywords When Writing Your Web Pages To Achieve The 1% Keyword Density You Want

It’s important to strike the right balance between using the keywords you want to rank highly in often enough and not overdoing it for fear of your site getting penalized by the search engines. That delicate balance can be the difference between gaining a lot of targeted traffic from the search engines and getting little to none at all.
It is recommended that you have around a 1% keyword density, or around 1 out of 100 words. That may seem difficult to not mention your keyword more often, but one way you could work that density to your advantage is to focus on ranking highly for many keywords, not just one or two keywords.
Since your web pages will likely have far more than 100 words, you could concentrate on utilizing more than one keyword for a section of 100 words. For instance, if you are talking about Internet marketing and search engines, you could use both keywords within a 100-word section of your web page. You could mention Internet marketing in general to start off that 100-word section, then finish up by talking about search engines. By that time, you’ll likely have 100 words and be ready to talk about topics again.
This idea can get a little repetitive, so it’s likely best if you focus on 5-6 keywords on a web page and alternate between those 5-6 keywords, mixing up the order as you write your web content. For instance, while talking about Internet marketing and search engines, you could also mix in domain name selection, web hosting, blogging, and article writing throughout the web page. By having more than just two keywords to focus on, you can make the web page more interesting than just writing in the same pattern - Internet marketing, search engines, Internet marketing, search engines, etc.
