By Admin | December 28, 2008

When establishing an online business, you need to gain as much as possible to your site. The search engines are a great free way to gain that targeted traffic to your site. However, to effectively utilize search engines in your business plans, you need to rank highly in the search engines for specific keywords people use to find product offers such as yours. As a result, you need to know what terms and keywords people use to find related product offers.

This will involve some research using a software program such as Good Keywords (which is free). You can then determine what keywords you should target when creating the content for your website.

Once you have learned what keywords you should use on your site, you should sprinkle them in consistently, but sparingly. A is to not use keywords more than 4-5 times every 300-400 words, or around 1% of your content. If you oversaturate your web pages with selected keywords, your web pages will likely not make much sense to those visiting the web pages, plus the search engines will likely penalize your site for using those keywords too often, as they will determine you are intentionally “stuffing” the keywords into your text. If you don’t use the keywords often enough, however, the search engines will probably not consider your site relevant enough to gain a high ranking for those keywords, so there is certainly a you need to achieve to receive meaningful targeted traffic from search engines.
